Spice up your Halloween Decor with Spooky Jars

I am always looking to spice up my Halloween decor, whether for a Halloween party or to be the spookiest spot on the block. Using jars and vases from the craft store, flea market, or even a mason jar, you can have a great way to store candy or party utensils, a vase for a skull bouquet, a fun way to light up your porch, or just a unique way to make your space more haunted. My mantle has never been spookier.
This DIY is perfect for kids, for enjoying a nice fall day outside, or watching Hocus Pocus for the seventh hundred time. This DIY only takes a couple supplies and THREE steps, that’s right, three. Decorating for the holidays shouldn’t be a chore, it should be fun and a way to celebrate the season itself so get to crafting!

Tips & Tricks
I struggled with the glue quite a bit on this one. Hot glue is great because it dries immediately and worked fine on the bugs, but due to the smooth and hollow underside of the rubber snakes, they were pulling away easily. So then I switched to gorilla glue and used clamps and rubber bands to hold the snakes in place while they dry.
After you glue the creepy crawlies on and they have dried, do a once over to make sure no glue is seen. If you can see glue, just do a sweep with your spray paint to make it match the rest of your jar.
A fun addition would be using glow in the dark paint on the inside of your jars or on the bugs and snakes themselves.
Similarly, painting the inside of the jars a bright orange would add a fun pop for anyone sticking their hand in trying to find candy.
How easy was that? This may be the shortest DIY I have done yet and the results are so expensive and professional looking. I am really quite pleased with it. My mom sends candy to my siblings and I every Halloween, no matter how old we are, and I know exactly where I am going to put it this year. The last DIY I did was a skull bouquet so I may even throw it in one of these for added flair. Let me know how yours turn out in the comments below!
