The Best Place to Print Your Holiday Cards
This blog post was sponsored by Basic Invite.
October is ending and with that begins my favorite time of the year, the winter holidays. There are so many traditions spread across the end of the year and I love every single one of them. From the first fire in my fireplace, picking out a Christmas tree, counting down the new year, and sending out my annual holiday card, I look forward to this all year. 2020 is and was really hard for everyone, the cats and I included, and I wanted a way to spread some cheer, give a laugh, and wish everyone Happy Holidays.
Luckily, I got to explore Basic Invite and their holiday cards, party invitation templates, and Christmas cards to figure out what would work best for the cats and I. Since I knew I wanted the cat’s and I to be wearing matching shirts of each other’s faces (thank you to Made Fur Rescues for the shirts), I wanted a cheerful, and witty card to go with it.
Being a designer means I can get pretty picky but I loved all the templates and the fact that I can change what is there to basically any color I want is perfect. They have over 180 colors and three types of foil: gold, silver, and rose gold. Anytime I changed a color there was an instant preview of the final card so I was able to play around with it till I was totally happy. You can even edit the shape of the card if you want to go beyond the typical rectangle. I tried some rounded corners on a few of my samples.
After I had my cards ready to go, there were a few papers to choose from. Normally that part is so stressful because choosing a paper is definitely an in-person task; however, Basic Invite allows you to order custom samples of your order, with any of the paper types, right to your home before you even place your final order. I think my favorite paper is the Premium Shimmer. As you move it in the light you can see it sparkling. I think the best all-around paper was the Smooth Coated. It has a slight gloss to it and feels expensive and classy.
One of the easiest features of Basic Invite is the Address Capturing Service. All you have to do is share a link on social media, your friends and family can fill it out, and then it goes into your account to be printed onto your envelope free of charge. We have all spent hours filling out envelopes or making our kids fill out envelopes (sadly the cats can’t assist there) but this saves you so much time! And while you are at it, you can choose from so many envelope colors.
Now that I have my samples, I am unsure of which to choose. If you have a favorite let me know as I will be putting in my final order soon. If you would like a card, submit your address to me.
